We are only too happy to accept all superseded desktop and laptop computers providing they are in good working order and meet our minimum specifications. The basic requirement is that the computer be capable of running Windows 7 or better and preferably be complete with mouse, keyboard and cables…. and don’t forget the laptop charger!!  We are always on the lookout for laptop bags as well.

How do I tell whether my computer is suitable for refurbishing?

Please note that we also cannot accept:

  • Printers
  • Scanners
  • Other peripherals

Data Security on Hard Drives

Computers for Learning is registered under the Microsoft’s Registered Refurbisher Program. One of the requirements of being a part of this program is that we ensure that all hard-drives are wiped before they go out.

Computers for Learning give donors peace of mind by using Wipedrive6, a world leader in data erasure software.  Wipedrive6 guarantees 100% untraceable data on computers and laptops.

Any hard drives that cannot be 100% wiped, for whatever reason, will be physically destroyed.
